Tired

I didn't want to wake up this morning. My sleeping's been a little off lately. I'm hoping that it improves but with Seth getting back within the next month and a half or so....I doubt it will.
But yeah, it was just rainy and dreary today..perfect weather for taking it easy and laying around. However, it didn't work that way for me. Oh well!

Breakfast: Kashi heart to heart cereal with non-fat milk and strawberry slices

love the little heart shapes
It was really good but didn't keep me full for more than an hour and a half. So I think next time I'll have it with a banana or maybe add a bit more cereal.

Lunch: Tuna and veggie wrap that included spinach, onion, tomato, broccoli slaw, and a laughing cow wedge

a little smelly but tasted good
I also had a cappucino and banana before I ate this. Oh, and a handful of nuts!

The rest of today should be nice and busy. I have a first workout with a client at 4:30 then I'll run at the gym and head home to watch The Bachelor. Hmmm...Emily or Chantal? I'm not even counting Ashley anymore, don't think she'll win.

Hope you're Monday is bright and cheery. Talk to ya'll later

Let's try that again

4.25 miles outside!

Ok, so let me just say yet again how important running/working out is for your mental state.
Before my run I was struggling to get my mind off of negative thoughts that were doing nothin but bringing me down.
After my run (and lots of talking with God), my mind is clear and I am re-focused and happy. Thank you LORD for sunshine and warmer weather today!!!

So I was busy yesterday like I said earlier. Met with my first client to exercise and it went really well! At least I think. She was out of breath 85% of the time which meant her heart rate was up and movin. I'm afraid she might be super sore today though! :/

After that I met up with my friend Kim to go shopping at the mall in Syracuse. I ended up getting this cute summer dress on sale:

Only 20 bucks!
What do you think Seth?  It's strapless and just a little bit hippy like me :)

So that was fun a afternoon. We had Panera for lunch on the way down which is always a treat.

Let's take a look at Today's food:
Had to make breakfast quick because I was running late so just had a Luna bar and banana.
Lunch: Half of a subway turkey footlong and grapes. I'll be having the other half for dinner :)
Also, snacked on some Rits toasted chips and hummus.
And just for any clarification: I do not ever journal on here everything I eat in a day. I don't want anyone thinking all I have is oatmeal and a salad. I only post breakfast and lunch usually for the reason of attempting to share with ya'll some of my healthy food staples. Anywaaaayss...

So wanna see how ghetto-fab my "cloffice" is at work?

Thats it!
And it kinda reeks too because they keep old exercise equipment in there. I always apologize to my clients for the smell. Maybe I should invest in some air freshener....

Just got back from there actually, met with a new client today. So that's 3 total so far!
Off to a good start...

Well I'm gonna head out. Please continue to pray for Seth and the men he is with. We may be close to the end, but until is behind is on the plane heading home, we need extra prayers for safety and perseverance. Appreciate it much!
Bye Guys!

I'm still alive

Hey guys... sorry no post yesterday. I was busy pretty much all day.

I'll try to do a proper update later today but for now I'm just going to go watch my wedding video and look at pictures of Seth and I.

Sorry for this loser post. Talk to ya later...

Weekend, here I come

It's FRIDAY!!!

Duh, as if you didn't already know that. I think it's my favorite day of the week. They'll be even better soon! *wink wink*

So yesterday's meeting with my client went well! In fact, I just wrote up her "exercise prescription" for our workout tomorrow. Hopefully it will go well! I know I'm very, very new at my job so it might take a little while to get everything just right, but overall I'm excited. My client for tonight cancelled because it's blizzarding out today. We re-scheduled for next week!

So let's dig into my food for today!

Breakfast: Mmmm...it was sweet and sooo tasty!

Sweet like honey
Half of a multi-grain bagel, peanut butter with a drizzle of honey, and a small bowl of greek yogurt with strawberries and more honey! This meal kept me full for quite some time due to all the protein.
Unfortunately this happened though...

bloodytastic!
Only I would cut my finger with a butter knife. It wasn't that bad or anything but it kept bleeding so I had to put a little band-aid on it. Whoops!

Lunch: Black bean veggie patty on a multi grain flatbread bun with avocado and a spread of laughing cow cheese. Also, a side salad with spinach, walnuts, tomatoes, gorgonzala cheese, and broccoli slaw with balsmic vin. dressing. Oh, and my banana too :)

Freaky looking smiley face lunch
It was scrumptious and gone in about 5 minutes ;)

Before lunch I got a nice, unexpected call from my love!

yay!!!
What a great way to end the work week!

Also, it my amazing Mother's birthday today!!! Love you Mom!!!

You're beautiful and I miss you!!

Is it Thursday already?

Hello friends

Happy Thursday to you! I don't know about you, but this week has flown by pretty darn fast. Musta been the long weekend... either way I'm glad! I've been able to talk to Sethy everyday this week, which has been sooo wonderful! We've had great conversations and have been making some pretty awesome goals for ourselves reguarding our future. It's the "Cathey" in me to dream about/plan for the future. Just gotta remember to make the most of everyday and be thankful for every season in our lives. (and pray to God for guidance as well ;))

Random fact of the day: 30,000 children die everyday from starvation. Sorry to get all serious on you, but I've been leading a Bible study for youth and learned about this last night. I feel so... frustrated at myself that I wasn't even aware of this sad statistic. I told Seth about it and we will be praying about sponsoring a child in the near future. It's so easy to get comfortable and concentrate on my own little world but the truth is that many, many children are homeless, starving, and dying everyday. Down the road, Seth and I are hoping to adopt, but for now sponsoring a child might be what we can do to help make a huge difference in one child's life. Oh, and prayer of course ;)

So onto less serious matters...today's food!!

Breakfast: my peanutbutter oatmeal with cinnamon

Lunch was eaten in 3 parts:
First up was a side salad with spinach, mixed greens, broccoli slaw, and tomatoes with 1,000 island dressing

Veggies!
Next was a handful of peanuts!

Healthy fat!
Lastly, but not least, chicken sausage with bell pepper and onion

Protein and more veggies!

It was delish. I really enjoyed the variety of this lunch. I happen to find chicken sausage just as good as regular sausage so this lunch was a hit with me!

I also wanted to tell you guys that I am not going to go through with my "no sweets" until Seth gets home challenge. I know myself pretty well, and I can already tell that I've been craving sweets much more than normal because I know I "can't" have them. This always blows up in my face. So I'm going to take it back a notch and allow myself just one cadburry egg (best easter candy ever!) or one reeses cup a day. I will still avoid cookies, cake, and other candy. This way I can still look forward to my sweets everyday,  just not go overboard with them!

Meeting with a new client later so I'll tell ya how it goes tomorrow!
Later guys

Just do it

Yesterday's workout was great but it took ALOT of will power to actually go to the gym. Once I was there I was glad I went. I don't know about ya'll, but when I overeat I tend to want to do nothing but sit on my butt and get mad at myself....and eat more crap!

I did make it though and completed 4.25 miles on the treadmill and then worked my butt off at spin class. I really, really needed those endorphins. I've been a little "off" emotionally so working out and being around other people was so great!  Lesson learned: get off your butt and work it out, even if your mind is telling you not to! (I've had to learn this the hard way too, btw)

Breakfast: No pic but had my egg, spinach, and cheese bagel

Lunch: Tuna salad with spinach, mixed greens, broccoli slaw, tomato, a small serving of shredded cheese, and thousand island dressing. Oh, and a huge orange!

Gettin my Omega- 3's
I think my carbo loading is on the tail-end as I haven't craved quite as many carbs today. Also, I have stuck to my no sweets rule except for my fat free 50 calorie hot chocolate I've been having at night. I didn't want to necessarily take drinks out of my "no sweets" deal because I enjoy a latte every once and a while. And hot chocolate too, I guess. But I mostly want that because it's so dern freezing outside and I need something to help warm me up. I might try and switch to hot tea though as it is much more beneficial.

I have 2 new clients I'm meeting with in the next 2 days so wish me luck! These days are busy, busy, busy! Not a bad thing though. It makes time go by faster so I can be back with this guy soon!!

charming, no? :)

Carb Overload

Ok guys... but really girls (because we're the ones that have to deal with this)... I've got major hormone issues this week apparently. After I ate my delicious salad yesterday for lunch I just could NOT stop eating!! My stomach was hungry every hour. I grabbed handfuls of cheezits and ate half of a frozen pizza right in the middle of the afternoon! Ughhh.. BUT at least I haven't had sweets I guess. Also, I worked out for an hour and a half to help burn some of that off but still...
and today hasn't been too much better. Started off healthy and delish:

Non-fat greek yogurt, honey, strawberries, and a little granola
I've had a small bowl of cereal, 3/4 of a blueberry waffle, banana with a little shot of whipped cream, handful of mixed nuts, and this:

No salad for me today!
My veggie sandwich contained: roasted garlic hummus, spinach, tomato, onion, and red bell pepper. It was really, really good!
So it's only 1 o'clock and that's everything I've eaten so far! More than usual but I'm not too worried about it. I'll be exercising for a couple of hours tonight to help put those carbs to good use. Running and spin here I come!

But I like to keep it real on here and make sure you all know that I DO have cravings and over-eat somedays just like everyone else. Healthy living is a lifestyle and as long as I'm still trying to get in my fruits, veggies, protein, and whole grains I'm not going to beat myself up too much for eating too many carbs.

I just got done talking to the most handsome man I've ever laid my eyes on, so my day will be great no matter what! We're getting sooooo close baby!!!
Catch up with ya'll lata!

I have the best job in the world

I just have to start with the most exciting news to share with ya'll!
This morning I came into work...sat down and said hi to Kayla and her parents. The mood was odd and her parents were being extra quiet. They asked me to sit down and wanted to tell me something....
To say the least, I was ready to pee my pants at this point! What have I done wrong? Are they upset with me??... It's actually the opposite!
They got Seth and I a homecoming/thank you-for-babysitting present in the form of....

Bose home theatre package!
I was soooo shocked when they showed me what they picked up for us over the weekend! I had mentioned it to Eric recently that I was going to try and get Seth a Bose surround system for his homecoming present but NEVER expected that they would buy it for us! I feel so incredibly blessed to work for the Hill family. They are extremely generous and thoughtful and I love Kaylabug so much! She has definitely helped me get through this deployment with her hugs, kisses, and smiles everyday. Yay for wonderful surprises!!!

I was able to tell Seth this morning and he was in just as much shock was I was. I'm going to let him set it all up when he gets home so he can pick where he wants to mount the speakers and what not.

So that was definitely an awesome way to start the week! Also, I've decided I'm going to try to give up sweets until Seth gets home. I've notcied I've been letting myself pig out a little more than usual on chocolate, candies, and cookies so I'm taking a break. This is NOT because I need to lose weight. It's just a challenge that I want to give myself as I try to be the healthiest version of me that I can be!
Once Seth gets home we'll be indulging on my special brownie sundaes plenty. So I'll try and hold out for that ;) I'm going to keep yall accountable on here, too. Wish me luck!!

Breakfast: No picture, but it was my PB and banana bagel with cinnamon.  Yum yum!

Lunch: Delicious loaded salad:

veggies galore
It contained: Spinach, mixed greens, red bell slices, onion, broccoli slaw, deli turkey, and this delicious mix of avocado, tomato, and corn that Shannon makes. So, so good! Also, had a couple handfuls of whole grain cheez-its. Now I'm full and ready to relax while Kayla sleeps.
Later I plan on getting in a solid workout, watch the Bachelor, and maybe talk to my sweetheart tonight!
Happy Monday!

Gettin my run(s) on

Food: Started of the day with lots of protein in the form of 0% greek yogurt with apples, honey, and cinnamon

Loved the creamy sweetness of this breakfast!
For lunch I had Panera with my friend Brooke. I devoured a cup of broccoli cheddar, half of the fuji apple chicken salad, and a bagette for dipping.  Also shared a fudge brownie :) Panera never fails in my book!

Exercise: I ran 4 miles with an 8:34 min/mi pace outside. There were some hills and it was pretty cold today (around 20 degrees) so I was happy enough with that. Plus, my tummy was not happy with my lunch choice and I may or may not have experienced the ever delightful: runners "runs". Sorry to gross you out! It's just part of the experience sometimes :)
I'm trying to get in as many outdoor runs as I can. My half marathon is 33 days away!!

Today has been nice and easy. Went to church and got a phone call from SETHY on the way! I plan on talking to him more very soon so I'm excited!

Sunday's church outfit
This week is looking pretty busy. Got some new clients to meet with and some other meetings to attend to so every night is filling up quick!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY today to my sweet mother-in-law, Mom Trader! Hope your day was special ;)

Girl night in

No, that is not a typo...it's just me, myself, and I tonight. Which brings me to this:

cheese and crackers

roasted veggies
And yes, that glass of wine was refilled in between the crackers n cheese and the veggies :D
What can I say? This hit the spot.  For lunch I attempted subway but it sucked big time. They were out of any kind of healthy bread so I went with a flat bread sub. Then mid way through I found a hair on the paper that they wrap it up in so I had to toss the rest out. (hair in or near food seriously grosses me out) Ahhh, subway... I hope I can still eat you after that experience.

Today's been ok though...not too exciting. Took the Xterra in to get the power steering checked because it had been making lots of noise when I turn lately. Nothing was really wrong ( I don't think; I don't get car lingo) but it didn't end up costing me anything AND I somehow got a free oil change next time I come in! Wow... not sure why still but I'll take it!

The rest of the afternoon I hung out in W-town.  Met with a friend for coffee and bought a few "springy" things. Wanna see??

I promise I'll wear both of them lots, Seth!

I've been wanting a nice trench coat for a long time so I decided to get one that was on sale at Old Navy. The black rain boots are also from there. It rains or snows frequently here so I know I'll use those tons. Yay for new basics to add to the closet!

Workout: Started the day with a 40 minute kettle-bell workout which kicked my butt. Later  I did my cardio which consisted of 30 minutes on the elliptical and 25 minutes on the treadmill. It was an interval workout kind of day I decided so I ran at a 6.5 speed for 1/4 of a mile and 8.5 for another 1/4 of a mile for two miles. I pushed myself really hard and did the whole last 1/2 mile at the 8.5 speed. It felt soooo good!

I also got a sweet email this morning from my sweet soldier. Best way to start the day :)

Anyways, I'm out to watch a girlie movie or something. See ya tomorrow!

7 Sunny Miles

Hello!
I ran 7 glorious miles after work today and will be feeling the endorphins the rest of the day. I feel like I almost needed that run. Thank you, God for giving me 45 degrees, blue skies, and wind today ;)

Okay, so I could have gone without the wind but it didn't matter. Still a great run. I completed my run with 8:13 min/mile pace which I'm pretty proud about considering I was running against the wind for half of it. The wind was so strong at times I had a little trouble breathing properly but I pushed through it and don't regret a second! That's the thing with running or working out in general: you never regret it ( unless you injure yourself of course!)

Post-run pic with lots of frizzies

So that was a great way to end the work week. Seth's phone call this morning also helped with my upbeat mood today, too ;)

Lunch: It was another salad. and a weird one at that. I kinda packed it last night and when Seth called this morning I didn't really have time to finish getting it ready. After adding some ingredients at Kayla's house, it turned into this weird mexicanish salad:

Odd mix
It included spinach, mixed greens, seasoned ground turkey, red bell pepper slices, broccoli slaw, mozz/prov cheese, and some fritos chips. For dressing I added a little light ranch, bbq sauce, and salsa.
It tasted ok but wouldn't necessarily suggest anyone to remake it. I can do a really yummy taco salad too so I'll do better next time with more prep!

For dinner I had half of a frozen Kashi pizza and a hot chocolate. Now time to catch up on some shows I missed this week!

I woke up to the best sound in the world...

Yep, you guessed it! Seth called me this morning :)
Continue to pray as we finish up this lonnnng deployment. It's getting so close, so please pray that we have patience and perseverance as we wait for God's perfect timing.

Food/workout update to come later! If I can, I'm going to try and squeeze in a long run while it's still warm!

Later guys, yay for FRIDAYS!!!

The rest of today...

Hi All,

This will be a quick post because American Idol is coming on in a few minutes :)

Lunch: went with a salad again today which included: Mixed greens, tomatoes, chicken, walnuts, blue cheese, broccoli, broccoli slaw, and apple slices. All mixed together with balsamic vin. dressing. I really enjoyed the crunch and crispyness of the apples!

gettin in the greens

I had this with a lot of water and a big handful of M&M's. Later I had a Fage Greek yogurt as a snack.

Workout: Went on another walk with Kayla on my back because of the fact that it was 50 degrees out today!!

After work I did a short treadmill and elliptical workout followed by an hour long spin class. Tuesdays and Thursdays I like to do a lot of cardio as part of my half marathon training. In fact, I've been mostly doing cross-training so far with a couple "long" run thrown in. Hopefully this weekend I can get in a decent outside run. Here's to hoping for warm weather! I miss my running buddy though. She's in Puerto Rico for the next 10 days :(

I'm out. See ya tomorrow!

P.S. Hoping to hear from Seth soon...

Stopping at 80%

It is another warmish day here in the North country! High is about 40. Yay! Melt snow, melt...please..

The rest of yesterday was good. Kayla's parents bought one of those hiking backpack thingys and I decided to try it out. We went to a local trail hoping that the snow had magically disapeared but it seemed to have done just the opposite. Every other step my foot was buried deep in 2 feet of snow :( Add to the fact that I wasn't wearing boots and my jeans were a couple inches too long...ya we didn't get too far. It was a really GOOD workout though! Trekking through snow is really hard and having a 30 lb toddler on your back definitely got me sweatin.

I also tried a kettlebell workout yesterday while Kayla was sleeping. I'm thinking I will really get into this. It requires alot of core stabilization which is super important. I'm feeling a bit sore today but excited to give it a try again later this weekend!

Breakfast: Today I realized that I hadn't had many eggs this week so I made my egg, spinach, tomato, and white cheddar bagel:

EAT ME!
I wasn't super hungry this morning so I probably shouldn't have eaten this. 3/4 of the way through I actually stopped and thought to myself  " I'm not really hungry so I probably shouldn't finish this"
But did I actually do that? Nope! I went against one of my own rules, which is to listen to your body and stop eating when you're 80% full.
Growing up in a family of 8 kids, we were always diving into our food as quickly as possible lest we not get something we want before it was gone. Just ask my mom, dinner was crazy and frantic. Every day when my mom picked us up from school I would ask her what's for dinner. I've always loved food :D So, I'm having to kind of retrain myself to eat slow and stop when I'm full. A work in progress obviously...

I'll try and update lunch and dinner later, as well as my workout.
Have a wondeful day guys!

Wonderful Wednesay

Mornin' everyone!!
Yay for a new, fresh day! Thank you for the comments ya'll left yesterday. They made me smile :)

So I bet you can guess why I'm exceptionally chipper this morning... I talked to my LOVE last night!!! It was so, so great to talk to him!! I really needed it. God always provides, doesn't He? So thankful for that.
I was able to tell him about my first meeting with my first client, which by the way went very well. I think she's going to sign on to work out with me once a week for a couple months! Whoo hoo! Now I just need to write out her exercise prescription and we'll be off!

Before Seth called I made vanilla cup cakes for a Bible study I'm leading tonight for the Chapel Youth.

Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla icing and choco chips
I really love baking. Originally I was going to make a cookie pizza from a recipe book but realized I didn't have any butter. That will just have to wait til next week!

So this morning I wanted to share with you a delicious, quick, and refreshing breakfast recipe. Enter the GREEN MONSTER smoothie!! It is comprised of greek yogurt(I used Chobani 2% pineapple), blueberries, a handful of spinach (don't knock it til you try it!), a small scoop of vanilla protein powder, and a splash of vanilla almond milk. And of course some ice cubes to make it nice and chilly:

In movement

Green and delicious!
This breakfast gave me 25 grams of protein this morning, which will keep me satified and full for quite some time! Don't be afraid of the poop looking color this smoothie has. I promise you CAN'T taste the spinach. It's really just a sneaky way to get in some extra veggies. Enjoy!

Well I'm off to play with my little friend now. Have a healthy and happy Wednesday!

Picking youself up when you're down

Hello...

It's been one of those days so far. The gotta lot to do, haven't heard from Seth, lacking motivation, just wanna sit and cry days. It ain't fun and it ain't pretty. But it's NOT over yet and it's up to ME to put on my big girl pants and make the best of today.

So I wanted to share with ya'll some tips from yours truly to make the best out of bad days. These apply to everyone, but I hope this especially helps you military wives out there that may have had, are having, or will have one of those bad days. We all have 'em, afterall.

Tip 1: Cry. Don't be afraid of it. It's a natural release of emotions and sometimes it's just what you need  to do. Let it all out, wipe your runny nose, and move on.

Tip 2: Say a prayer to God for help and comfort. I also like to say motivational verses or phrases to myself throughout the day. Today mine is " She is clothed with strength and dignity. She can laugh at the days to come." -from the last chapter in Proverbs.

Tip 3: Get up and move! Sitting around in your sadness is never a good idea. Peel yourself out of bed or your couch and get around people. Take a walk. Jog it out. Go for a drive. Whatever you need to do to get your mind off of things and help you relax.

Tip 4: Do something nice for someone else. This is a win-win situation. You're helping make someone else's day better, which will make you feel better too. Selflessness is Godly and very rewarding.

TIP 5: Put on some fun music and dance like a crazy person. Kayla and I did that this morning. Sure I looked like a complete idiot but it was fun, had us laughing, and got some endorphins flowing.

So that's it folks. Feel free to add to my little list.
It's lunchtime so I'm off to eat my yummy salad. Later gators..

Roses, chocolates, and chocolate cake

Hope you all are out somewhere nice eating delicious food and chocolate with your loved one(s). I am babysitting still. Kayla's parents are out for their first dinner out together on Valentine's Day!

I just wanted to quickly recap the rest of the day.

Food: Lunch was a salad made with spinach, brocoli slaw, tomatoes, yellow bell pepper, and ground turkey with fat free honey dijon dressing:

Salad and the roses Kayla's parents gave me!
On the side I also enjoyed a light Muscle Milk (14 grams of protein!) and a handful of M&M's.

Exercise: Did a 5k on the treadmill with hills and intervals. I was so nasty sweaty when I was finished. Hills are definitely challenging but always worth the effort! Then I did 45 minutes of yoga sculpt. My arms and butt will be more sore tomorrow I'm thinking...

Now I'm here with Kayla. Her parents also got me chocolates and bought Kayla and I a chocolate cake to eat for dessert. I think they like me ;)You can bet I had a nice serving of that cake, too!!
Time to go play with my little goober!

Valentine's Day, Shmalentine's Day

Hey Everyone!
To all who celebrate today..Happy Valentine's Day! And to everyone else... Happy Monday! Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday. My internet was sucking big time. It was super frustrating, but somehow I was able to do the taxes. BIG check off of my list!

Yesterday was pretty good. Went to church and sang on the worship team. I love helping lead worship!

Sunday Church Outfit
After church my client called and cancelled our appointment because she has walking peumonia. Poor woman! So, I was thinking about lunch and decided to be lazy and grabbed a turkey sub from Subway. Seth and I did this often on Sundays. I'm like my mom: I like my meals quick and easy on Sunday.
The rest of the day was pretty chill. Managed to get myself out the door for an easy cardio work-out. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill, bike, and elliptical. Finished off the my workout with burpies ( walk out push ups with a jump) and medicine ball crunches.

This morning I enjoyed one of my favorite breakfasts: half of a multi-grain bagel with peanutbutter and slices of banana. Topped with cinnamon!

Can't go wrong with peanutbutter and banana :)
Like I said earlier, Happy V-day to all who celebrate it. It's not one of my favorite holidays at all. Just not a fan of the pressure that comes with it (as well as all the annoying commercialism). I was, however pleasantly surprised with orange-pink roses from Kayla's parents this morning!  And of course I got the sweetest email from Sethy, too.

Whether you celebrate today or not, have a great Monday and "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say it: rejoice!" -Philipians 4:4

I lied

Hello! I have a bit of extra time on my hands so here comes a recap of my busy and productive Saturday.

Morning: After breakfast and coffee I did one of Jillian Michaels workout DVD's. I wanted one that wasn't too long but that would give me a good workout so I chose level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. Excellent choice! Next, I dug myself out of the driveway. It had been snowing all morning which I was totally bummed out about b/c Corie and I were gonna attempt a long run outside.

Oh well! Off to the post office I went to send Seth's final package!
Next was the gym for an intermediate run on the treadmill, followed by 15 minutes of light cardio on the elliptical. My run was challenging but not too difficult. It looked like this:
1 mile warm up jog at speed 6, then going into intervals of speed 6.5 and 7.5 every quarter mile for 2 miles. Then ended with one more mile at speed 6. Honestly, the hardest part was those 2 warm up and cool down miles. I'm not a very patient person. So, that totaled to 4 miles. Not bad. You know you worked out hard when you look like this when you're done:

sweaty, dirty, and lots of endorphins!
So "good work out" I was thinking... then I looked outside and saw sunshine! That's one of the good things about Northern NY weather: it can change in a flash. The day turned out to be sunny, warm (30 degrees), and windy! I just couldn't pass up the chance to get in a couple more miles outside so I went home, put on a fleece, and I was out the door with a big grin on my face! Did 2 very, very windy miles outside with a 8:15 min/mi pace!

One of the things on my to-do list was to clean out our fridge and stock up on veggies and new salad dressings. We had some old nasty ones from before Seth left still in there so I threw those right out! Felt so good :) I went to Walmart and bought lots of delicious veggies for the week as well as organic chicken tenders and jennie-o ground turkey.

Lunch was next and I knew exactly what I wanted: A BIG yummy salad!

Delicious with a capital D

This salad included: spinach, broccoli slaw, tomatoes, walnuts, blue cheese bits, and chicken. Topped with natural balsamic vinagrette dressing! I give this simple salad two thumbs up!

Tonight I am babysitting 3 little boys which is always fun. I hope someday I get to have mostly or all boys. Don't get me wrong, I love little girls too, especially Kayla, but boys are so much fun! Always going on adventures or playing outside. I need at least one boy to teach baseball or soccer to. If I get all girls, you know they're gonna have to be tom-boys. We'll see what God has in store for us!

Hope you all are having a lovely day!

Pictures, anyone?

Today I have a long list of "To Do's" that I need to get to, so this post won't have too much content.
What it DOES have is some of my favorite pictures of Seth and I. So, if you aren't interested in looking at pictures of us, check back tomorrow :)

I miss him so much and looking at pictures is what helps him and I get through our hard days. Hope these don't gag you out too much

First we have some good ol' Mac pics:

TGIF

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Let's take a look at today shall we?

Morning: started the day right with chocolate and peanut butter!! Yes, ladies and gents' it is possible to eat healthy and eat both of those delicious foods. Enter peanut butter oatmeal with chocolate chips!

This stuff was seriously tasty and hit the spot! Here is the simple list of ingredients:

Just heat the oatmeal in the microwave with water and add a tablespoon of peanut butter into the bowl for the last 15 seconds or so. Take bowl out and stir together the oats and pb, then add a few chocolate chips to the mix. I topped my bowl with a dash or two of cinnamon for just a little extra kick.
*Side note: as far as pb goes, look for organic or natural brands. Low fat is NOT what you're looking for. Pb is actually filled with lots of GOOD fat! Most brands will pump up the sodium or sugar contents if it's "light" or low-fat". Okay, I'm done :)

So that was breakfast. The rest of the day was busy, busy, busy. The good news is I have my first client!! I actually met her in the spin class I take and I'm really looking forward to meeting with her!
I'll let ya know how it goes...

Wanted to let ya'll know I talked to Sethy last night, too! He's been busy doin his thang overseas but is hangin tough. I'm actually sending his final package tomorrow!! Yay!! Soon, honey, soon!

Tonight: Hung out with my friend Brooke, which was super fun. Can't go wrong with a little shopping and TGIF's. I am so stuffed now, we indulged on dessert and I got the vanillabean cheesecake. So, so wonderful! I'd definitely recommend it if you ever go to dinner there.

Well I'm out! Gonna relax the rest of the night. Got a fairly busy Saturday planned tomorrow.
Hope you all are having a great start to your weekend!
